Biofuels, renewable fuels of vegetable origin, are the only alternative to fossil fuels that significantly lower the hazardous exhaust emissions with less air pollutants during its use.

Makpetrol introduced the biodiesel fuel on the Macedonian market for liquid fuels for transport, having a vision for establishing new, bioenergetic platform with adopted standards referring to the biofuels’ production, distribution and quality.

Makpetrol realizes the production of biodiesel B100, that is, pure biodiesel, in its own factory, through standard technology, consisting of producing biodiesel-methyl ester (FAME) by process of transesterification of the oil obtained by draining the seed from rapeseed. The production capacity of the plant is 20.000 tons of biodiesel fuel on an annual basis. The manufactured biodiesel meets the technical European Standard MKS EN 14214 which enables its blending with the fossil diesel according to MKS EN 590 Standard. Independent accredited laboratory of Makpetrol is responsible for accomplishing and maintaining the quality of the biodiesel.

Makpetrol AD is the unique manufacturer of pure biodiesel B100 which due to its high quality is required in the neighboring countries. At the same time, on the basis of the license obtained by the Energy Regulatory Committee, biodiesel and fossil fuel blend is present under the name biodiesel B8, which means blend of 8% pure biodiesel with 92% fossil diesel.
