CARE FOR THE ENVIRONMENT IS THE OBLIGATION OF PRESENT AND FUTURE GENERATIONS
In accordance with the legal regulation, Makpetrol AD is obliged to provide reports for all facilities for Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA). Within the framework of this obligation, for all gas stations and warehouses, reports have been made and consents have been obtained from the Ministry of Environment and Spatial Planning. These reports clearly show that the facilities of Makpetrol AD have modern technical and functional contents, as well as with foreseen measures for the protection of the environment.

• monitors the adoption of new laws, as well as amendments and supplements to existing laws, technical regulations and standards in the field of fire and explosion protection and proposes their implementation;
• organizes and implements professional training and knowledge verification of workers who work in storage and take actions related to the storage of flammable liquids and gases;
• organizes and implements professional training in the field of loading or unloading or other procedures related to the loading or unloading (filling, transshipment, transfer, discharge, storage) of dangerous substances;
• prepares new and updates existing work instructions from the aspect of fire and explosion protection;
• organizes and conducts functional tests of stable fire and explosion protection systems;
• organizes and conducts tactical demonstration exercises for extinguishing fires for the employees of Makpetrol AD – Skopje;
• cooperates with competent inspection services for protection and rescue, with territorial firefighting units, voluntary firefighting association and with professional firefighting units from neighboring legal entities in order to improve protection against fires and explosions in the Company;
• places signs for warning and prohibiting actions that may cause fires and explosions in facilities where flammable liquids and gases are produced, processed, stored and used, etc.

According to the Rulebook for the organization and systematization of workplaces in Makpetrol AD – Skopje, the work in the field of fire and explosion protection is performed by the Security Department.
The security department is a central service in Makpetrol AD – Skopje and it is organized and functions within the Wholesale Directorate.
- In May 2004, it certified the Quality Management System in accordance with the international standard ISO 9001;
- In June 2007, it certified the Environmental Management System according to the international standard ISO 14001;
- In August 2009, Makpetrol hotels in Struga and Mavrovo, were among the first in R. N. Macedonia to be certified according to the international standard ISO 22000;;
- In May 2014, it certified the Information Security Management System in accordance with the international standard ISO 27001.
- In August 2019, MP was certified with the Occupational Health and Safety Management System in accordance with the international standard ISO 45001.
With the introduction of the new versions of the ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 standards, in 2015/2016 changes were made to the integrated system for quality, environment and information security in accordance with the requirements of ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 14001:2015. Thus, Makpetrol AD is one of the first companies in R. N. Macedonia that is certified according to ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 14001:2015.
Risk management is a part of daily operations at Makpetrol AD. In order to ensure continuous improvement and as a requirement of ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015 and ISO 27001:2013 standards, this process implies daily identification, analysis, evaluation and treatment of risks. In order to ensure business continuity, an Analysis of the impacts on the operation and Business Continuity Plans of the processes were prepared.
The certificates of conformity of the Quality and Environment System with ISO 9001:2015 and ISO14001:2015 and the Food Safety System with ISO 22000:2005 are issued by the certification body Qality-Austria, accredited by IQNet – The International Certification Network. The certificate of compliance of the Information Security System with ISO 27001:2013 is issued by CIS-Certification & Information Security Services.
In November 2013, the FAME biodiesel production plant successfully implemented and was certified according to the ISCC (International Sustainability and Carbon Certification) system. At the FAME biodiesel production plant, certification checks are carried out by SGS every year. In addition, the FAME biodiesel production plant has an A-integrated environmental permit with number 11-713/2 dated March 9, 2010, issued by the Ministry of Environment and Spatial Planning.
In order to preserve the best practices in the processes, MAKPETROL AD continuously works on improving the Integrated Management System (IMS), the Food Safety System and the existing processes. Regular internal and external audits of the Quality, Environment and Information Security System and the Food Safety System are carried out to confirm the compliance of operations with international ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 27001 и ISO 22000 standards.
